Breakfast in Rome

Breakfast in Rome

Mondays are hard enough.  Add a gray, wet, winters day and it is hard to resist getting back under the duvet and binging the day away watching Danish political dramas.

My best breakfast pal Diana and the itinerant Carla and I decided to start a dismal February Monday morning at the cozy Urbana 47 which luckily for me is just steps from my front door.

Monday to Friday from 8:00 o'clock in the morning the charmingly cozy industrial space is called Caffe Colette and serves Continental or American breakfast.

We all chose the American menu that comes with an individual pan of eggs cooked to order, salty spinach and triangles of toast.  Cappuccino in a pretty porcelain cup and a freshly squeezed glass of tart blood orange juice are also included.  The dense square of flourless chocolate cake in the glass display case was impossible to resist (and since it was gluten-free practically diet food - right?) so we ordered one slice with three forks.

Not a morning person?  Urbana 47 does a wonderful set lunch with three different choices and prices.
