Rome for Expats - UPDATED

UPDATE - June 11, 2012

Rome for Expats is now available as a stand alone App!  All you have to do now is go to iTunes and search for Rome for Expats and there it is.  It is also available for Android on Google Play.

I would love it it if you would download it and leave a review on iTunes.

Any questions, questions, suggestions?  Send them to me

Old Habits

We are a family of habits.  If we like something, we tend to do that same thing over and over (and over again).  We have been going to the same beach in Delaware for 15 years, (the same week even)  We watch the same movie every Christmas Eve. We eat at the same table at a favorite restaurant. Every time.

You get the idea.

The Mercatino

First things first! There is a bar at the Porta Maggiore branch.   For a fortifying shot of coffee before the hunt.
I come from a long line of shoppers. Shoppers with a particular skill at finding a bargain. True thrift store professionals. I have many a childhood memory of hiding the in the racks of furs and evening gowns in the back room at LoehmansA few of my friends have been telling me how fabulous the "Mercatino" here in Rome is.

I had been ignoring them. This was a BIG mistake.

Easter Eating

It has taken us a little while to warm up to Roman Easter. We usually kind of ignore it. Last year we moved during the holiday. It has been hard to let go of long lazy days in a tiny beach town on the coast near Durban.

My pal Diana over at Browsing Rome has a great post on delicious treats near Circo Massimo, the location of Coach G's famed bootcamp.

Here is another spot to add to the list.
