Winter Pleasures {The Beach in January + Rome}

There are a great many good things about living in Rome. 18 degree winter afternoons, spent in the sunshine, having lunch at the beach, is one of my favorites.

Last weekend we had a friend to pick up at the airport. We headed in that general direction a few hours early which meant we had plenty of time for a leisurely lunch. Our regular spot was still closed for the Christmas holidays, so we chose a place a few meters farther down the beach.

It was full on Fellini, Sunday, Roman, chaos in the very best way. We had lots of time, and Pecorino wine, in the winter sun while we waited for our plates of frittura mista and spaghetti alle vongole and pacheri con alici.

It was the perfect way to celebrate last of the holidays ( Befana ) and kill some time before it was time to go to the airport.

  1. The beach looks so colorful and pleasing to the eye. I'm assuming their pools do look amazing and as fashionable as this one too I'd like to try going in here.

  2. I'll make sure to drive by to the place when we already scheduled our European tour this coming summer. The place looks so vibrant and happy, that's why I'm looking forward in seeing it personally.
