Philadelphia {Where to Eat}

Our time in Philadelphia was very short and mostly taken up by a very in-depth tour of the very impressive Drexel University.  We did manage  a quick coffee with a long lost pal and some excellent eating.

Village Whiskey
118 South 20th Street

All dark and moody and serving an excellent old fashioned.  The retro wedge salad, fried pickles and duck fat french fries were pretty good too.

Federal Donuts
1632 Sansom Street

My sweet husband got up very early and scouted out these fresh out of the fryer, sugary treats.  I loved the strawberry ginger glazed and the salted vanilla cinnamon.

Calle del Sabor

The Drexel tour was a four hour affair, and by far the most extensive college tour we took.  When it was finished, it was well after lunchtime and we were very hungry.  Lucky for us there were food trucks lining the streets throughout the Drexel campus.  We picked mexican.  Steak tacos, steak quesadillas and a bean burrito all served with fresh pico de gallo were just what we needed.
