If you are here on my blog then you all probably know that I am a big fan of hamburgers. I have spent the past few years trying out the many offerings that keep popping up in Rome. It is now a full on long term trend with just about every new place that opens putting a burger on the menu. While I am happy for the choice, and some of the fresh new dining faces in town, I am a bit weary of the white washed, hipster logo-ed places that are all starting to kind of look the same. As with anything I have zeroed in on a few favorites and return to those when I am craving a burger fix.
The other day on my walk home after a morning at the hairdresser I spied Brillo Burger on a small side street off the via del Corso and decided to give it a try.
There are lots of choices you can pick from the menu or mix and match and treat your own. In a bit of a panic from so much choice I ordered an Ridi Brillo and a grapefruit, winter melon and fennel juice because that makes it a healthy meal. Right? They also have a fantastic selection of local craft beers.
The burger was big and juicy. It had a little too much going on, but everything tasted good. I would order something simpler next time and skip the cheddar-like cheese.
If you are up near Piazza del Popolo which I think is kind of good food wasteland and are looking for a quick burger fix this is the place.
